We had a terrific time at Hervey Bay conducting the “dog bite prevention seminar”. Our host Mr. Alex Popovick from “The Fraser Coast Regional Council” was fantastic and put together a great educational package for the animal control officers and the lovely Veterinary Nurses.
After several dog evaluations it was the students turn to jump in the body bite suit and get bit by a trained law enforcement dog. A great day for everyone in a beautiful part of Australia.
Dog Decoy Training Workshops
Decoy or K9 agitator training is extremely important to get the most out of your departments dogs. A decoy can make or break your dog so the standard of the K9’s training can be so much higher with an experienced decoy.
Without doubt K9 decoy is an art form and it takes many years of experience to even be an average decoy. So much money goes into dog units but they always forget about the decoy.
Gary Jackson is one of Australia’s top decoys of over 26 years experience agitating 1000’s of dogs Locally and overseas. Gary has extensive experience with the body bite suit and concealed arms and many techniques will be shown to the students to get the fastest and best results.
The students will learn;
1. How to start an inexperienced dog.
2. How to develop serious aggression.
3. The use of tools such as whips etc.
4. The use of a body bite suit and concealed arms.
5. How to do back, upper/inner arm, leg and chest bites.
6. Advanced exercises.
The seminars can be for individual or group training at MNK9 or on location for private or Government organisations. Each dog decoy training seminar is customised to suit your application and can go from a 1 hour introduction, half day or full day programs.
Handler training programs covering obedience, protection and detection can be incorporated with other specialty programs. The handler training program will put the student through many areas of training to enhance their skills as a dog handler.
The program will cover the specific area they wish to focus on to get the most out of their dog in training and operationally. The handler training program will also help assist in the maintenance of the dog.
