My husband and I sat Sally down that night and told her that the next day we would take her to pick out her very own pet dog. To say she was excited is an understatement. It took two glasses of milk and three stories (about dogs) to get her to sleep that night.

We decided a Labrador was the perfect family dog for us and Sally chose her favourite one in the shop. While she was picking I asked the pet store worker about pet medications and she pointed me in the direction of heartworm medicine for dogs.
